Democrat House Intelligence Committee Memo Released

Democrats on the House Intelligence committee have released their memo to refute the previous Nunes regarding the FBI and FISA warrants. Parts had to be redacted before release

"FBI and DOJ officials did not 'abuse' the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) process, omit material information, or subvert this vital tool to spy on the Trump campaign," the Democratic memo asserts.

The FBI and DOJ "would have been remiss in their duty to protect the country had they not sought a FISA warrant and repeated renewals to conduct temporary surveillance of Carter Page," the Democrats write, adding that the "DOJ met the rigor, transparency and evidentiary basis needed to meet FISA's probable cause requirement."

And now we have a situation where the right believes their side and the left the left side.

So it will be interesting to see how many independents it will sway in either direction

I think the whole FISA court is unconditional and abuses your rights by using mass surveillance.

The whole point of it was to tackle terrorism, not civilians.

No one finds it odd that we had a secret court (not a secret now) being used in this manner?

It's like check and balances don't matter anymore.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans have grown stale from being the whole two relevant parties.

I think the main take away of this story is being missed.

Trump denied the release of the memo, yet democrats found on legal grounds to release it anyway.

what are those legal grounds? that is where the meat is

No they had to work with DOJ, FBI to redact sensitive information before releasing it

actually, basically he had no choice to have it released.

reason is, the sensitive information in question is the same as the in the RNC version.

this of course is a very condensed version of the issue but its basically He wants to block it, but he cant

...huh? it's redacted. The president refused because of supposed sensitive information, so the democrats had to work/argue with law enforcement agencies to remove the sensitive information. After that, yes the president would not have much legitimate recourse to block its release
