So according to the non-partisan committee, the CBO, the republican bill to replace Obamacare would lead to 14 million fewer Americans with health insurance by 2018 and 24 million by 2026. I guess you could say a "positive thing" about it is that because of the decreases to medicaid, which the ACA expanded (which will go away with this), we will save 337 billion dollars over that same period. Meanwhile they will increase the military, decrease the education budget, and build a big useless and expensive wall.

Personally I just hope people hold republicans accountable for all the people that will die because of this, but I know they ****ing won't.

What people don't realize is that uninsured people still go to the hospital, they just don't pay. What the uninsured don't do is visit a doctor.

That's why physicians in private practice are doing fine, hospitals are going under.

Thanks, Trump.

Trying to save some money here and there, then people are affected by it. Nothing done to curb costs or help people, just to reduce what the wealthiest have to spend.

Edit: Read portions of it. It's considered 'major legislation' but they noted that nearly all macro economic measures weren't calculated since they were on a deadline. It would be nice to see this modified to see what projections change when millions losing insurance are weighted against the gain on the yearly budget by around 34 billion.

Cut back on E.P.A. regulations, sell out to billionaires, weaken N.A.T.O., give Wall Street more leniency, and kick millions off their healthcare.

This is what Trump supporters voted for. You all got fucking conned, and now we're all fucked.

Just one of many reasons why I find those who vote for this odious party a mystery. Way to vote against one's self interest.

All I know is that more tax cuts for them are coming as part of Paul Ryan's tax reform.

Well, that and the fact that they'll unleash a flurry of economic growth.

337 billion dollars over 10 years is a laughably small amount of money to save, especially in light of A.) how many Americans this will directly and indirectly harm and kill, and B.) how much money is being spent, and will be spent, on non-critical or less-important things.

But of course! Because if we work hard we will be one of the rich/job creators! American dream! FENCE! DOG! WIFE! HOUSE! CAR! That's why we treat the rich well, so when we are rich we are treated well!

I love my country, and my peers, but I still can't believe there are people that subscribe to that dated carrot on a stick.

Is this a coincidence? I think not. It is pretty possible Paul Ryan was bribed when making this decision.

But relax, your tax money is being put to a better use. Since trump took office there has been a 432% increase in drone strikes. Why save lives when you can use that money to kill people instead?

We need a healthcare plan not another health insurance plan. This is why I never vote for Republicans even though I despise the fake liberals that call themselves the Democratic party..

Looks like the Trump states stand to lose the most. Poetic justice, I guess. This is what they voted for after all.

I hope local businesses can thrive from this. I've yet to read into the changes.

I'm lucky enough to have my parents work in a clinical field, which will be something I'll be pursing as well. They give out some great health insurance for you and the family. I'd probably be dead right if I didn't have the insurance that I have now.

I wonder how many will now get their insurance back because of the skyrocketing of their premiums?

Since 2015 when the healthcare act was fully implemented only about 14 million people have gotten health insurance through the market place. Not 20 million but 14 million of that 14 million 11 million we pushed into Medicaid "84%" which will not be dismantled by the new bill, between 2-7 million people would have qualified for Medicaid before the health-care act was introduced.

So given the numbers only about 2.4 million people got non Medicaid through the market place this is less than the estimated 3-4 million who lost their healthcare because it didn't meet requirements in the healthcare act, doctors were changed by the act, premiums increased on plans to pay for the low income members on the market place so people had to leave said plans.

Also don't kid yourself the healthcare act was written especially to funnel as many members into Medicaid by design it was the only way increase premiums on everyone with privatized healthcare to pay for the low income members on Medicaid.

Will those people be uninsured because they don't want insurance and government no longer requires them to be insured?

I'm not defending the bill (I actually haven't looked at it in detail yet). Just a thought.

Considering the insurance is more expensive.....none. And the Republicans were to blame for the skyrocketing premiums.

The feds are reducing Medicaid as well. Read and learn.
