Beto launches his website. Selling shirts, stickers, and signs, but no policy position

Usually you have a tab like "positions", so people can know what they are voting for/donating to. Not this guy. You don't even get a bio or an about page.

There are about links and FAQ's for the merch, but not the candidate.

Beto is trying to hide his secret socialist agenda.

That's one of the reasons I'm leaning toward Warren and Sanders. People who know what policies they would to pursue, how to write them, and how they would be funded.

Beto is a white male running in the democratic primary. Why are republicans so scared? He has absolutely no chance.

As opposed to selling shitty MAGA hats to the dregs of American society?

Since when has American politics been about positions? The right hates the left, the left hates the right, and whichever camp you fall into, your position on the partisan issues that plague politics has already been decided.

Sure it is. Trump got elected because he united the racist fucks against the Mexicans.

And Canadian politics is worse. You should see people from rural communities in the prairies, all they care about is a politician's position on abortion and how they are going to impose Christian values when they are in office. And now that Trump got elected, they have started slinging the "close the borders, get rid of the immigrunts!" garbage.

It's fucking disgusting.

But you just described the impact of positions!

Perhaps we have a misunderstanding. I was referring to your post:

To clarify my thoughts on the matter, we all have various policy preferences and priorities on those policies. Due to the first past the post system and Duverger's Law, the parties form big tent coalitions based around those policy positions and priorities. If Beto thinks he's going to be able to get through the primaries without articulating any policy positions (I doubt he's that dumb) then he's going to be sorely disappointed because merely saying, "I'm a Democrat/Republican" isn't enough. People identify as Democrat/Republican because of policy, not in spite of it.

That's why there's such a push for the direction of the party platform (particularly during primaries), and why so many people claim that there isn't a party for them (because no party is going to match them perfectly due to the necessity to pre-form a big tent coalition in our electoral system).

Only 2 people have a chance of becoming the democratic nominee according to polls, and one has not even announced his run yet.

The rest all poll below 10% unless Biden decides not to run then people seem to favour Sanders by a fair margin, followed by Warren and Harris.

According to polls, white men are the only ones that have a chance. It's kind of a shame.

So apparently he is already being attacked for a.) his joke about his wife and b.) the creepy stories he wrote as a child.

Yeah, Beto is done. Before he even started.

Children can be creepy. Is that a surprise to anyone?

I just think it's funny because if Stephen King ran for office, I'd probably vote for him. And that guy is straight-up demented [in his writing].

We enjoy all this fiction with violence and horror, then when someone writes it as a kid we suddenly are too moral to be OK with that?

Lame.

I think Beto might win the presidency. He fundraised $80 million dollars last year during mid election fight for the Senate. Now, he fundraised 6.1 million dollars in the first 24 hours of his campaign. More than Bernie, who made 5.1 million dollars. Fundraising 80 million dollars, imagine how many he could make this year.

It's too early to determine if he'll win the Presidency, but unless he does something shockingly stupid, he'll have the nomination.
