RIP

Barbara Bush, the matriarch of a Republican political dynasty and a first lady who elevated the cause of literacy, died Tuesday, according to a statement from her husband's office. She was 92.

That's too bad. She seemed like a decent first lady, unlike some others I could mention. I was young during Bush Sr.'s presidency, but I remember Barbara always seemed so positive, so upbeat.

She was a strong woman; not only a first lady, but wife to the head of the CIA. That could not have been easy.

She was pro-choice, surprisingly, and supported the equal rights amendment. A republican, sure, but not a right-winger or blind conservative. The modern Republican party would do well to remember that these days.

She lived an enviable life, and she spent her time making other people's lives better. RIP Barbara.

Thats what they always say about mass shootings.

Except, things can be done to prevent future mass shootings. You're not going to prevent future deaths of Barbara Bush.

Sure it's prevented. There isn't multiple deaths for one individual. Anyway she was 92 and in poor health. Nonetheless RIP and sympathy to the family.

I'll remember her by quoting her own words:

"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

You heard it from the horse's mouth, why should anyone with a beautiful mind waste it thinking about Barbara Bush?

@horgen: Sorry about that, didn't realize there were curse words in that tweet. Honestly I forgot that cursing was no longer allowed or I would have made that earlier topic title something else entirely.

@N30F3N1X:in relation to your now deleted post. Just so you know, it's easy to pull up random quotes by one unhinged person and disparage a whole political party due to one persons words.

Trump political consigliere Roger Stone unloaded on Barbara Bush in an Instagram post on Tuesday evening just hours after her death. There, Stone wrote that the former first lady was a “nasty drunk” and posted a quote from him suggesting that if you lit her body on fire it would “burn for three days.”

“Barbara Bush was a nasty drunk. When it came to drinking she made Betty Ford look like Carrie Nation #blottoBabs,” said Stone. “Barbara Bush drank so much booze, if they cremated her … her body would burn for three days.”

That's real compassionate there, right wingers.

See what I mean?

@tryit: It's more a matter about basic social decorum. You don't have to say nice things about the person or celebrate their life, but it's common decency not to dance on their grave.

A thread full of RIP is boring and pointless.

The GameSpot moderators do nothing like always- They obviously have a leftist bias and they let liberals on here pretty much say whatever they want with little interference. Keep up the good work guys! There are some distasteful scumbags spewing absolute nonsense about someone who just died and nothing has been done. It's disgusting and shameful.

I thought Conservatives were all for not giving in to the PC police? Maybe you're looking for the Politically Correct forums.

My point is that she was someone who showed no decency to other people and isn't deserving of decency herself. To hammer my point home, here's a quote of her speaking about Katrina victims:

"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this, this is working very well for them."

**** her. She gets zero sympathy from me.

Call me crazy, but I have issues with people saying stupid shit on a thread that is about honoring someone who just died. It shows a lack of class and values from not only the idiot liberals who post on here, but it also shows a clear political bias from the GameStop staff.
