Another school shooting in Texas

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Twitter.Witnesses described students running from the school as they heard gunshots; they also described hearing an alarm at the school, though the sequence of events wasn't immediately clear.

Third shooting in 7 days, it´s just insane that no one, not even the Democrats are willing to do something.

At least though it was good that an armed officer at the school was able to stop it before it got much worse.

That's assuming a lot, including that democrats beat some long odds in the senate. It also assumes that Trump would pass legislation that has anything to do with guns at all.

Also Jac, if you really want something to be done, you should call your republican representatives who currently oppose any and all gun restrictions and tell them that you want them to change, not call on the party that supports doing something to actually do something about it.

Well, #bluewave and looking at the recent posts in here and the media, it´s not that long a short for the Democrats.

And sure I could talk to my fellow Republicans but to be fair, it would not do anything. Even among my family and friends, I am an outcast since I do not even own a handgun.

Texas has a higher gun crimes rate than Illinois, the home state of Chicago.

I think this is an important point int he gun control debate. Nothing is thoroughly defined so a lot of talk is meaningless without the consistent definitions. To me it feels like they do this so that when they bicker back and forth it looks like they are doing something when they are not.

Gun control isn't going to fix the issue, that should be even more apparent since they used a .38 and a shotgun this time. Maybe stop televising the events, Don't put it in the news. Stop making them famous. People here in Australia have brought weapons to school but only for the one who bully's them. That's the other thing why they killing everyone? how messed up is school sociological set up that they do this? Well, truth be told, the odds of a child being killed in a school shooting are astronomically low. If you really want to stop children being killed then deal with motor vehicle accidents (including drunk driving), accidental drowning deaths at pools and beaches, poisioning from various household substances, and disease.

Don´t try to act like the democrats are any better than the rest of the scum who call themselves politicians. The only time a Democrat did anything was when Clinton used his power to get gun policies done

And they were still weakened thanks to lobbying efforts from the NRA, the GOP, and Democrats who either caved in or oppose gun control reforms.

Passing any type of gun legislation is difficult, especially due to the interpretation of the second amendment and the fact that any type of reform could be overthrown.

Right wing media hates on everyone that doesn't fit their mold of what a person should be like or anyone who doesn't support anti-government policies. That's their only purpose as far as I can tell and they are on the airwaves 24/7 around here at least. They definitely do spread hate and division.

The Democrats controlled both chambers from 2007 until 2012 with a super majority in both chambers in 2009 and 2010 with a Democratic president and not one gun control bill introduced let alone passed. It is not the Republicans stopping the lefts gun control but it is the left.
