I downloaded the update last night and everything seemed fine. I get home from work today and slide in Pirates on Blue-Ray and Nothing happens...I put in another movie and try it out and nothing. Games work fine and standard DVD's work fine but my blue ray's wont show up. I have a 1080p samsung LCD, and my ps3 is hooked up via HDMI, has anyone else had this problem or if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.EthanFrome
I have this EXACT prob w/ my samsung lcd, which model do you have? maybe it might just be a prob w/ our models.
Go to BD/DVD setting , Then go to BD 1080P 24 Hz Output select ( Automatic )

Isn't the default option automatic? Atleast that's what it was for me when I checked it today. So I would think setting that to off would help compatibility more incase the PS3 thinks the tv supports 1080p24hz and causes a blank screen.

yes you need to turn it off.. it most likely means your tv does not support 24hz..it should fix this problem
