For those that have played both games. Which one do you prefer, think is better, and why? I am curious is all, as I have only played Skyrim and I just bought Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen but haven't had the chance to play it yet.

Dragon's Dogma, mostly because the combat doesn't suck.

Skyrim by about 100 miles.  The quests were tremendously more interesting, there were ten times as many of them, you had skill trees, all sorts of stuff you could specialize in, armor you could craft, etc. etc. etc.  Oh and fast travel too.  I played Skyrim for 200 hours and platinumed it.  Played Dragon's Dogma for maybe 20-30 hours and quit from boredom.  It was a very pretty game and had a nice world, which is a shame because it was totally wasted.

Gameplay - Dragon's Dogma Story, length - Skyrim I'd say play DD if you will only play one, it's more to the point and instantly fulfilling as where Skyrim is less focused. I never really liked Skyrim because of it's god awful gameplay.

Gameplay definitely belongs to Dragon's Dogma however on quality side - everything else Skyrim is fantastic. I really hope to see Elder Scrolls game in proper third person perspective, similar to Witcher series one day.

SKyrim is way better. Combat is not as good as Dragons dogma but if you play with bows and magic it plays a 1000 times better then with actual swords and shit. I feel they ment it to better reflect the magic in the game then the actual swords axes and such I found it played more like a shooter when you werent stuck up close with a blunt object.

I never really got into skyrim far because I hated the gameplay of the swords, is there a way to mod the magic so that you can quick swap between abilities or do you have to change to a menu everytime you want to swap weapons?

Skyrim is the best third person perspective Bethesda has ever had, and it still sucks. It's certainly one of the main sticking points for me. I've never been a fan of first person fantasy.

Love both, they both have their ups and downs but over all I have to say I loved Skyrim more.

You can put weapons & magic to your favorites menu and from there on select it via 1 - 9 keys. Not to mention, the people who brought this gimmick in didn't think it to the end, if you want to dual wield you still have to go to the menu, the quick select keys only work for the left hand -_-
