Yeah that was good, but in every other way, I like the Slim version. Looks the best, and felt well-made. You're right, I do own a slim but i love the ps2.
My fat one got YLOD twice before finally kicking the bucket a third time. It was only three years old. The super slim looks hideous and is cheaply made. The slim on the other hand has the best of both, and mine has lasted me almost four years without a problem. So I'd definitely say the slim.
I would go for the slim as a new buyer if backwards compatibility is not needed. Looks the best by far, downright a pleasure to look at, and built the best in my opinion. The fat I hate the look but backward compatibility is a must for some. The super slim, in my opinion, is the worst console revision possible. It is so cheap and ugly. The sliding door was such a bad idea.
It has the looks, the functionality, and the sexyness that a machine branded "Sony PlayStation 3" deserves.
I still have my phat 60gb PS3 (albeit with an upgraded HDD). Â It's in pristine shape, and still performs as well today as it ever did. Â I would never buy the ugly (IMO) slim, or the putrid (again, IMO) super slim.
If my phatty ever died then I would do whatever it takes to repair it or replace it with another phat.
I have the 60GB fat model. I've had it for almost six years now without any significant problems so i would say it is the best model to have since i haven't used the other models.
Well only the launch fat ones were backwards compatible. I believe it was 60 & 120 GB... But to answer, my favorite is the slim. Not a fan of the super slim.
