Whats easiest class to choose for Demon Souls?

The game is insanely hard. My buddy is going to let me borrow it until I beat it so I dont have to buy it. What is the easiest class to choose to make the game a little less insane? I hear if you die you have to replay like a hour of same gameplay.

I would suggest The royal because he starts with the Soul Arrow spell

Are there different Trophies for beating it with different Classes?

I am a Magician and his defense is low as you expect. I am banking on him to be a great high level character. Right now it's very tough though and Mana is expensive and hard to come by as a "drop" item.

Once I get the ring that regenerates my mana I will be extremely happy.

For those of you that have the "ROYAL" as a first class how fast does the mana take to refill. Would you say 30 seconds or minutes to fill? Either way I will wait because its expensive right now.

try the Royalty class. They start off with the catalyst and soul arrow which can kill some of the earlier mobs in 1-2 hits from a distance
