Whats better? GTA IV or Saint Rows 2

Title says all.

I am thinkin of picking up 1 of these games.

I enjoyed Vice City / San Andreas so is GTA IV a improvement??

or is Saint Rows 2 much better than it?

GTA IV is good but Saints Row 2 is better, I like all the customizations you can do and the side missions are stupid but fun.

Ok here is the deal. Both games have good qualities and bad qualities. Both games should be played and both games are dirt cheap now.

GTA4

The good

• Cover system helps a lot
• Good clean graphics
• Story has funny moments
• Lock on
• Very, very detailed city
• Online can be pretty fun when you just mess around

The Bad

• Lack of things to do like the old GTA game
• Story is overall kinda boring
• The ending is kinda meh
• Driving takes a good while to get use to
• No tanks or air planes

Saints row 2

• Good custimization
• Co-op
• Great voice acting
• Wacky story
• Lots of things to do

The bad

• Some of the problems from the first still exist
• No cover system
• No lock on

Overall both games are good for very different reasons. Most people will probably say Saints Row 2 though.

The GameSpot score is accurate enough here. I'd trust GTA IV. Saints Row 2 is customizable and fun, yes, but it's way too unrealistic. It's rather ridiculous sometimes.

They're both fun games, but GTA IV is still my favorite sandbox game ever(unless you count STALKER as a sandbox FPS, then it shoot past first) Saints Row 2 is much more...crazy. It feels like the whole world is just insane. GTA IV has a much gritter, realistic feel to it.

i had more fun with saints row 2 then I did with GtaIV, You can customize your character,your outfit, your houses, your vehicles,your gang.

GTA 4 - good graphics

SR2 - good gameplay , fun , customization , large garage , gangs

i couldnt finish gta4 because i didnt like it stopped in the half of the game and i played it so far only because it was my 1st and only game back then (40GB GTA4 bundle), right after i've got other games never touched it again , saints row is on the other hand exactly that what i was expecting from gta , all the activities and stuf was great and i couldnt stop to play it until i was finished.

i was a GTA fan since 1 , played all -1 , london , 2 , 3 , vc , sa , psp storiesbut GTA4 was a huge disapointment i even like the two PSP gtas more , i was so much hating the calls from roman and jacob wanting to date me all the time like nico was a gay or something , after shooting one bullet into a wall the whole police department was after me and many few other annoynig things , i dont even care that the dlc is now planned for ps3 ... no way i invest in this game , however i do not say its a bad game but it didnt deserve 10/10 and saints row is a better GTA than GTA4 imo

Saints Row 2 is more fun and it was crazy and over the top but Volition knew how to make a game fun for the player and as for the story it was good the Ronin and Brotherhood were the best gangs in the game. Thecustomizationis really good it has plenty of side missions like a fight club to blowing stuff up.

GTAIV I enjoyed it at first then I got bored of it I found the story quite dull and It didn't it had much variety but I'll be picking up Episodes from Liberty City as those seem more interesting then GTAIV at least the characters in the DLC packs seem more interesting then Niko.

dress good or how u want. guns, be the man on top in the end, thats wot these games are about.

gta4 takes that away in a rags to rags story half the stuff u can do isnt much as once u done it

thats it, why spend so much time on tv channels, why play a game to watch tv. the customisation

is horrid nothing really to choose. yes it realistic but who wants it truly realistic.

saints row2 has got it down to a tee. the story is insane, the people r insane.

when gta decides to go forward then i'll be right back on tack with them but until they give me a more

up to date san andrea's which in that direction is deffiantly moving forward than a foreigner getting no

where in gta4 i'll be sticking with saint row2 for the sheer fun it offers.

I have both, and I can easily tell you GTA IV is better by a mile. Saint's Row 2 is a fun game, no doubt, but it isn't even in the same league as GTA 4.

If money isn't a problem, I suggest you keep Just Cause 2 in mind. It's coming out next month.

You want graphics then go with GTA4, but if you want gameplay go with SR2.

I STILL play Saints Row 2 to this day. And if a trophy patch were released, I'd have the platinum 10x over by now. Saints Row is everything GTA used to be. Namely fun.

GTA IV is way better than Saints Row 2. Also, GTA IV has a bunch of DLC episodes and one of them is already on the PS3 its called "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" comes out on March 30th, 2010

gta4 hands down. awesome game. great story, characters, alot of fun.

GTAIV by far..don't know why people hate on it, it's definitely a step forward from the previous titles and a few steps back in certain areas of the game. But overall GTAIV is unlike any other free roaming game.gamer082009

because its not san andreas. and from what I heard san areas is alot more fun then gtaiv.

I have both GTA IV and Saints Row 2. GTA IV is more realistic, but the missions get very boring. I like Saints Row 2 because you can customize your character/gang, and it is very fun. GTA IV is still a great game, but if I had to choose, I would pick Saints Row 2. money-gamerz

you brought back from the dead this 5 month old thread..., anyway in a heartbeat i'll go with gta4, i didn't try saint's row personally but watching the videos of it looks like a very big meh! quality wise gta4 is waaaaaaaaay way better.
