I bought a 32inch recently for my bedroom and I sit on my bed about six feet away from it and it's very easy to see every little detail. Other than the 32inch in the bedroom I also own a 50inch in the my living room and 27inch PC monitor. My wife and I live in a good size apartment and they all fit great in their spaces.
I play on a 17in lcd or sometimes I play on my 720p projector, which is well about my whole wall. But we're also going to buy a 37 - 42 in HD TV in the upcoming weeks, but you know mothers = chronic procrastinators.
Get a 32" I just got rid of my old 27". 32 is much better. I suggest getting a 32" Vizio LCD 1080i 16:9 1200:1 contrast ratio for $600 excellent tv with great picture and sound, it's my new tv.
