I'd strongly suggest Crisis Core. You don't REALLY need to have played FF7 (But it would help imensly, with all the little tid-bits, and things only someone who played FF7 would know) cause it's a prequil. But I'd get CC, personally. Around 14 hours for main game, then theres 20+ for the extra missions, more if you take your time for either.
If not, i'd go with FFT. It'll last a good while.
i Have Tactics, Crisis Core AND Jeanne D'arc. Tactics is outta print now so get it if u find it. its gettin hard to find already iv noticed.the_number666
If what this guy says is true then I'd go ahead and get FFT, because Crisis Core isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Jeanne D'arc I can't comment on since I haven't played it.
I highly suggest Disgaea first, Jeane D'Arc second, Final Fantasy Tactics third, and lastly Crisis Core.
Disgaea has the most involving combat system in my list (and allows you to level to 9,999 to boot...), Jeane D'Arc can be a riot especially with the skill Godsend, while Final Fantasy Tactics can occasionally be a pain (it's still great though).
Crisis Core has a great story, snazzy graphics, and mildly entertaining combat system... but the combat gets old before you finish the game - and it's only a 10 to 15 hour story... definately not something you would want to play all summer.
