what ps1 classic should i get?

I've never owned a playstation before the PS3, so the best suggestion I can give you is BUY FF7!

Never played it myself, but all my friends, and apparently everyone else, says it's one of the best games ever

Wild ARMs is a great rpg, it actually inspired me to buy Alter Code F (which is like a remake of 1), and Wild ARMs 5!

Also, guys, I'm 100% sure he is talking about buying a ps1 game off of PSN, therefore, VII, etc aren't really choices.
