My favorite genre is the platformer. Heh, and I'm really hoping for a new Sly Cooper game for the PSP! :D
I'm an FPS fan, so the system has a few offerings... I'm also a die-hard NASCAR fan which is why I bought the system - To have a quality NASCAR game wherever I need it to be (just took a 1st at Pheonix this morning!), but really, I'm just a gamer. I find merit in just about everything but I lack patience to get the most out of your average RPG. I wish there was a fantasy-adventure of the calibur found in the PS2 title "Drakan: The Ancients' Gates".
Mine would have to be a tie between Action/Adventure & 3d platformers, with RPG's coming in a close 2nd.
Okay holy crap... What does the J in JRPG stand for? I'm mainly a fan of RTS games. Something somewhat simple but with several strategy types involved (Stronghold Crusader anyone?). I'm also a HUGE fan of 2d games, especially for systems like the PSP without a whole lot of power. I'm sorta into Patapon, although I probably would've liked it better if it had seen a bit less rythm and a bit more 2d RTS. I dunno, it's fun but weird. I'm into games with lots of customization. phantasy star portable is amazing, and I'm gonna pick up monster hunter 2 soon.
I also love tower defenses... look up "bloons tower defense 2"
I'm really hoping for a good solid platformer with lots of customization opportunities and maybe online play, (LBP?! HECK YES).
Wayyy too long of a post.
Simplified:
RTS
2d Games
Platformers
Tower Defense
My dream game for psp:
2d platformer RTS with towers and stuff for defense.

SHMUP'S!!!!!! Gradius, R-Type, 1942, Mobile Light Force 2, Lifeforce, etc. I wish somebody would make a shmup that is actually worth paying $50-$60 for. Insane grafix, cool weapons, killer bosses, tons of levels, different endings, etc. I EAGERLY AWAIT THAT DAY! LONG LIVE SHMUP'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

answering you and Gnesh, a JRPG is a Japanese Role Playing Game. Like Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, ETc. J means Japanese. Not exactly sure what SRPGs are. Though an example of western RPGs would be like alot of MMOs, Oblivion, Dungeons and Dragons, Mass Effect, etc.
Oh. Like Final fantasy Tatics and stuff. Oh alright. gotcha. (I never really saw anyone use SRPG)...SRPGs is Stretegy Roleplaying Games, like Jeanne D'Arc and Disgaea on PSP.

Hey Tonylope, I love that icon... one of thegreatest, most touching and involving games EVER. You ROCK.
The other thing I would like to throw out there is that I love slow games like "Reel Fishing"... they are a refreshing alternative to teeth-gnashing actioners and brain-frying puzzles. I know it soulds stupid, and i know "Reel Fishing" and "Rapala Bass Challenge" got lame reviews on just about every site, but I urge you to use up a GameFly order on it and check it out.

They are good. I have enjoyed fishing games at times. I just think people don't have to patience to play. It can be boring if you don't get a bite any time soon or if you really don't fish and play this game. Can be a turn off.Hey Tonylope, I love that icon... one of thegreatest, most touching and involving games EVER. You ROCK.

I definitely get where you are coming from with that. Sometimes you just need a good relaxing game. I personally go for harvest moon. It's a great break after a couple days of god of war or other action games.
