Transfering games saves from USB to new PS3 Slim

Okay so my launch ps3 got the ylod back in august and just got a slim ps3 for christmas. Heres the deal, I used a USB to copy all of my game saves back in August and put them on my PC. Today I go use the USB to take those game save files and try to put them on the new ps3. The problem is that nothing is showing up when I go under saved data utility for ps3, it will read the usb but doesnt show any files. Anyone have any idea how to assist me in my little issue? Thanks

and yes I have googled and youtubed and they are all doing the same thing use the usb that has the game saves, plug in the usb to ps3, go to save data utility and under usb copy saves. For me it wont work.

I will try that, I have been putting the "SAVEDATA" folder in the USB. I hope this works.
