You could use a flash card.. (SD, mini SD, Micro SD..etc) That's what i've been doing to convert movie files and add them. You can also just buy a cheap 1-2 gig usb stick. Also they come in handy for UT3's downloadable mods.

I've also heard you can use your ipod if you have one, (in case you don't have a usb stick, or flash memory)

You might not need to transfer but use file sharing instead via networking.

I didn't realise you can transfer files from pc to ps3 wirelessly?-I thought you can only use wi-fi access from internet via your router/modem-which by-passes your PC?

you can transfer file wirelessly from PC to PS3 via the media server (windows media player). however, the PC does not recognize the PS3 as a media server so you cannot exchange files that way. If you download an OS with windows media player or the like you could probably do it.

On a similar note...does anyone know how to play live streaming video via the internet onto the PS3? Is it possible?

when you plug in your ipod to your pc...just open the ipod folder (same way as a normal hard drive folder when connected to your pc) and click tools, folder options, show hidden files, you'll find your ipod files without using itunes...

I don't think this is possible but I thought I'd ask. Can I access the Blu Ray player from my network computer?

The PS3 recognizes memory cards, external hard drives, etc. Format it as FAT(x) and the system will pick it up. I have a 750Gb external hard drive connected to my system at all times. That is where I have my movies, music, and game saves backed up.

Plug the drive into your computer to access the files. Are you trying to do more than that? Like stream files or access the files over-the-air?

That's funny, something must be wrong with my PS3 then because I plug in AND listen to my iPod all the time. I'd better phone Sony and get this extra feature removed.

Seriously though, it's not perfect but I assure you, and everyone else, the iPod does work with the PS3. You just need some patience with it.

I was trying to access the Blu Ray drive from my computer to rip the movies. I have since installed a Blu Ray rom on the computer for that reason.

this is all because of the iPod's format. The iPod which I have has the format of a FAT32. This is the same cooperative format that the PS3 uses.
