I have an Xbox with a bunch of games right now but I don't plan on renewing my Xbox LIVE. I will be switching to Sony with the PS4 anyway. Would it be worth it for me to get a PS3 now, and maybe sell my Xbox?

It depends. If you plan on getting the PS4 at launch I would say no, but if you are holding off for a year or two after launch then I would say get a good used deal on it and play through some Sony series so that you can pick there successors on the PS4! Do keep in mind though that in 2014 Gaikai will likely be streaming PS3 games.
If your getting PS4 at launch or within the next few months, there's no point really.sagejonathanExactly. If you want the PS4 and will have the money for it just wait. If its a budget issue I'd say go for it there are a ton of great games if you haven't played any yet to hold you over until you get a PS4. Maybe try and find someone to do a trade with and swap systems.
I own a PS3 and 360. The PS4 is only going to have 4 games at launch. I've seen the launch of every generation since the NES and LAUNCH GAMES SUCK! Wait a while before you jump on the next gen band wagon. Still a lot of good games coming out this fall for current gen. Don't waste your money getting a PS3 unless there are exclusives you want like The Last of Us and Dragons Crown or what ever else. I'm not getting a PS4 until after I finish Dark Souls 2 which don't come out till next March 2014. It will probobly take me 6 months of playtime for me. I won't be going next gen till pobobly fall 2014 at the earliest. Most of the games you saw at e3 that were next gen will probobly get pushed back a bit.Â
If you want a PS3, then get one. It is not like games will stop being made for the system the day PS4 is released. Games are still being announced for current generation platforms. Games like Dark Souls, Square Enix's murder mystery game, Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z, Dark Souls 2, Tales of Symphonia Collection, and more are coming in 2014. Current generation is far from dead. PS4 is looking pretty cool on the first party end of things. Knack, and Killzone look cool. Infamous will be dropping in February. Either way, you cannot lose no matter which platform you go with.Â

wait a little and get a ps4. u wont regret it but buying a console at the end of the gen is imo useless. the second ps4 games get released u will start seeing last gen game to be extremely inferior.
