A couple months back, I would have said you were stepping on a six-hundred dollar landmine. But given that you'll be buying a PS3 right when you'll have a choice selection of games at your beck and call, then I say do it.

It's definetly getting better. With people picking up Warhawk (bluetooth headset included), there are plenty of people on voice chat and plenty of people to play against. Anytime of the day I go on and find plenty of 32 player games that are mostly full. Warhawk just got an update that fixed false full games/stats/game drop freeze issues/etc... I think with some time that the online gaming will get even better (and it's free). I think that getting a PS3 for xmas is a great choice especially with the upcoming titles. I am especially looking forward to LittleBigPlanet which looks like a pretty sweet game. Personally I think that you should keep the Wii because you have Super Mario Galaxy coming, SSBB, and Mario Kart Wii, but that's up to you.
