Thinking about geting rid of the PS3...

Ever since I got my PS4 I rarely play this thing and I have been using it as a blu-ray player in my bedroom. The main reason I didn't want to sell it is because I still enjoy Dark Souls II, but since we got the news that Dark Souls II is coming to PS4 there isn't much holding me back from selling it. (Would love if Dragon's Crown and Demon's Souls also found its way to PS4).

What does everyone think?

I get what you mean. I've spent one night with the PS4 and don't see myself going back to its clunkier slower older brother much, other than PS+ games.

So if you have PS+ best to keep it. If not, sell it if that's your gut instinct.

there a few games that make me intend to keep my xbox 360, they are skyrim an oblivion ,fallout 3 and fallout new vegas, skate 3 and of course dark souls 1 and 2. If your not a fan of bethesda games in the past I can see your reluctance to keep it tho

I got PS4, I wouldn´t consider selling my PS3 nor my PS2 and not even my PS1, I play in all of them, actually the one that sees less action is the PS4. I´m not a person that gets rid of his old stuff to buy new stuff, if something new comes out and I´m interested I just go and buy it. Actually now it´s a good time for PS3 owners, there´s lots of guys getting rid of their PS3, lots of retailers are clearancing their PS3 stock ( for example I just got Lego Marvel Heroes for 15 US in PS3, PS4 version value ----> 50 US ) so you can get really good games dirt cheap,

I love Bethesda games, but I play them all on PC.

Well if you don't plan on using it for games then sell it.

I kept mine because even though I have a ps4, I still plan to play a lot of games on my ps3. Gets just as much use as my ps4 at the moment.

I'm keeping my PS3 until BL: The Pre-Sequel releases all it's DLC. Then it's bye bye PS3 and hello PS4.

If you do not play games on it anymore, then by all means. There really aren't that many exclusives coming to PS3. The new tales game is supposed to be only on PS3, but if Namco was smart like Atlus, it would also put the game on PS4. The only other big games coming to PS3 are the new amplitude, and mortal kombat X. Both of these titles will be playable on PS4. If you have backlog you want to play through, then the system still has value. but if you are looking for actual new games to play, then the system is on its way out of the spotlight.

i still have my ps3 because it has such a huge library of games by now that I'm sure I've missed a hidden gem, heck I still have my PS2 because I'm looking forward to finally playing persona 4.

keep the ps3.... the ps3 has a huge amount of great games especially for real cheap now. Also the ps3 graphics are still awesome. I can play some old ps3 game and be impressed by the graphics.

Also, I have like 50 downloaded games on my 750gb hard drive.... If I sell it, i lose all those games and get nothing for it. I have 2 ps3 and that alone is the biggest reason not to sell.

if it wasnt for SOTC/ICO HD collection, ZOE HD collection id sell my ps3 also. but those games are classics and i'll deff be replaying those games years from now so i have no choice but to keep it.

Keep the PS3...it'll still get new games until at least 2017...so keep it as long as you can...

I have more games i play on my ps3 than i do my ps4 currently so i couldnt get rid of mine. There's some real gems i would miss playing like Uncharted 2+3, R&C and numerous racing games.

I know eventually the games will come for the ps4 but in the meantime its being kept busy with GTA V, after completing it on the ps3 im enjoying the carnage again on my ps4.

Says the guy who says that once you go back to the old gen the current gen looks much better and that graphics aren't everything. Please get your opinions straight before you post.

Plus we're talking about 8 year library (PS3) vs. a 1 year library (PS4). Why do you hate logic?

If you didn't buy a PS4 you will still loving your PS3.. I still do, I don't have any choice.

TC if you don't need to sell the PS3 I'd hang on to it for a while longer at least. You never know what might come out on it that isn't coming to PS4.
