Think my PS3 just broke?

So I am playing BC2, sweet game, anywho. It crashed on me, so I reset it, and started playing again, then it just shut right off, now every time I turn it on. It only flashes a red light on and off, nothing else happens? So I am guessing it's toast,

It's the 80gig model that came with Motorstorm, probably year after launch.

I can't even get the disk out, why should deactivate PSN though? Also read that if you remove the HD and re install it, it should work 9 out of 10 times. But that little blue screw is in the so tight, that I stripped it. Why does it have to be so bloddy tight, darn it.

She's toast... flashing red light = ylod, it flashes a yellow light quickly before going away. To get the disc out, turn off the power at the back, hold the eject button down. While holding it down, turn it on at the back.

Thanks I'll try that for the disc. So should I just chuck, and buy a new one then, really want to get the HD out, but that darn screw.

Well I got the HD out, but it still does not work? Guess I am screwed?Couple questions that I owuld love to get a answer for.

1 - Above poster to wrote to make sure I deactivate my PSN, why? Can't I just log in with a new PS3

2 - How do I get the disc out?

Sounds like it but I never heard of a ps3 with a red light only yellow light.

Same thing happened to me just before. Shuts down and flashes red light. I start it back up and it crashes within seconds. SOMETIMES lasts for an hour

Question - Are my stats for BC2 gone forever, or are they saved on the server side?

Its a shame Phats have the most problems. I think they are the best looking. But get a Slim. Pretty darn reliable.
