The PSP certainly peaked and despite what Sony says, it has underperformed since launch. It COULD have been the revolution in handheld gaming that Sony wanted it to be but certain design flaws kept it from beating Nintendo. Is it declining? Yes. Was the PSP saved in the last month. It certainly was for many since the drought of games got people thinking about selling it and waiting for the next handheld console. I only keep my PSP around for legacy gaming (Capcom classics, Street Fighter Alpha, Twisted Metal 2, Mega Man X, etc). There's very little new, original content that makes me keep my PSP around. One day we'll get a portable gaming device with stellar graphics, dual analog sticks, a hard drive, diverse game library, and a long lasting battery. If that's the PSP 2 so be it. If not, I think that will be the handheld that will be what the PSP should have been.Hopewellone
As long as you don't mind spending $400 on a handheld .
Click on the PSP tab, click on new releases, then start scrolling backward for about 6 months. Look at how many blank weeks there are. Do the same thing on the DS. The difference is staggering.
I've been thinking for months now that the PSP is a dead platform; there are as many new releases on the PS2 as there are on the PSP.
No, not a 'fanboy', I prefer the PSP for all the obvious reasons (graphic quality, sound, target market) but so little is developed it's hard to believe Sony is actively supporting it anymore.
