The Last of Us multiplayer idea

So I'm sure most all of you know about Naughty Dog's upcoming post apocolyptic esque survival game, The Last of Us. Im sure there will be some type of multiplayer in the game, and I thought of an idea that i think would be awesome as a multiplayer portion of the game. You know the Arma 2 mod for pc called DayZ? If you don't, you should look it up because its awesome. Basically its an ultrarealistic zombie survival game in a huge open world that is also populated with between 50-100 other real players on the server. You have to scavenge for everything, food, water, guns, ammo, bandages...everything. It's really cool.

Anyways, I think it would be really cool if Naughty Dog incorporated a similar multiplayer option in The Last of Us. Say about 25-30 or so people per server all wondering around the open world of the game just trying to survive. If you see another player, will you kill them? Maybe team up and try to work together? I think that would be really fun and a great change of pace from all the action oriented, fast paced online shooters we have on consoles. Anyone else think this would be awesome?

Id like to keep the game single player. With some social accpects.

Yeah, that does sound like a good Idea and it's a "LITTLE" different. It kinda makes me think about Red dead Redemption.

Naughty Dog already confirmed multiplayer.

I think the idea sounds interesting. I'm not much of a fan of multiplayer but when it's unique, I'll always play at least one match.

The game would have to be an open world game for that to work. And last time I checked, the Last of Us isn't.

I really hope the multiplayer is really unique and different, not just some team deathmatch mode shoved into the game (ala Uncharted). Regular multiplayer would feel out of place I think.

Not sure if you're trolling but there is going to be multiplayer.

No multiplayer. Doesn't need it, and I don't want it. I can't imagine anyone even thinking about multiplayer in The Last of Us. The single player is going to be epic, that's all I can't stop thinking about.
