Star Ocean 4 confirmed as a PS3 title, first screenshots included!!!!

Looks like the system that was capable of producing amazing graphics that TRI-ACE referred to as the platform of choice is ofcourse the PS3! Im betting on a complete unveiling at TGS in 2 weeks.

does the SO series have a continuing story line... or can i just pick up SO4 and know everything that is happening?

They all take place in the same universe, but usually a few years apart from each other and with a new cast of characters. so you won't need to revisit the other 3 games to know whats going on!

Furthrmore I wouldn't mind playing the first three games if they're good. Discovering a nice new (Square) jrpg is always nice. Now where do I lobby for the originalStar Oceanto be released on the Wii Virtual Console?

So we are looking at possibly:

- KH 3

- Star Ocean 4

- Unnamed Square PS3 project (possibly Star Ocean 4, the website is an obscure one)

- Final Fantasy 13 clips

SO3 was a huge dissapointment for me.. the battle system is a lot diffrent than other RPGs you should rent 3 before you consider 4. its a new story everytime im pretty positive.

how was the battle system in SO1/2? the thing that interested me in SO3 was that within each battle, the game played as an action RPG.

SO3 was a huge dissapointment for me.. the battle system is a lot diffrent than other RPGs you should rent 3 before you consider 4. its a new story everytime im pretty positive.

This was inevitable, I hope it stays on the PS3 only for developmental reasons. I hope to see more of this at TGS but I am also hoping for more news on the PSP releases of Star Ocean 1&2austin_is_god

Square doesn't really do multi-plats, well other than porting all the classic FF games to everything from GBA to PSP to cell phones. They release games for just about every system, but any given game is an exclusive to a system. As far as I know, anyway. Can anyone think of any Square multiplats, other than the FF remakes?

I loved SO 3, Im deff getting this, but up to this moment it was for PS2, and I was pissed because it was not going to have great graphics, butnow, wowow I have more exiting games to look for :D:D:D:D

Not doubting this - but, where is the actual confirmation? IGN lists the game on both the 360 and PS3, labeled as "Unofficial". Other than the fact it lists the PS3 as the platform, I didn't see any actual news announcement on the game. Just wondering, and I'm personally hoping this game is on the PS3 only... and like someone mentioned, mainly for development purposes.

Square-Enix have already been quoted in interveiws saying that it is harder to stay on one platform in this gen because costs are so high. They said there will be alot of multi-platform games because developers have to recoupe as much of the development cost as possible. I think last Remnant is just the begining sadly.
