If you had to ask, then no.

And a shooter at that, no less.

I'm sure it will be a worthwhile game. Maybe not the best ever, but worth it nonetheless.

I think it'll be a good game, but i'm going to wait to pick it up. Because knowing Rockstar they'll release a "complete" or "game of the year" edition in about a year for about $30.

"Shooter" doesn't automatically make it a waste. If you don't like the genre, what's the point in complaining other than to increase your post count? I personally don't tend to play RTS, Sports, or RPG games, but I don't waste time posting in topics where those types of games are the main focus. Personally, I enjoyed the first 2 Max Payne games, but so far I'm just not that excited about what I've seen of this one. If it does end up with great reviews, I'll have more reason to check it out.

Redbox is getting it. $2 for a rental each day, should only cost you $2-4 to finish it, since it is a shooter.

Rockstar game means you can't go wrong. Max Payne 3 is no generic shooter, the tech used really flash out the gameplay and animation. Just look at those design, tech and gameplay videos, the game has an insane amount of detail with a really interesting back drop and story. Did a mention it has an amazing soundtrack.

You do realize that it's been nearly a decade since the last Max Payne right?

Nice of you to take my shooter comment in the worst way possible:?

I think if you are in Gamer's Club in Best Buy (it's free and easy to sign up) you get a $20 gift certificate if you pre-order. I'd do that if you can.

*looks at GTA IV Complete Collection, Red Dead Redemption GOTY Edition, LA Noire Complete Edition* *looks at the fact that each time, the "complete version" came out in a shorter timespan after the original* *looks at the fact that seven DLC packs have already been announced for Max Payne 3 and the game isn't even out yet* History says that in six-eight months a "better version" will release for 40 dollars. So no, it really doesn't seem like a wise investment. You're going to pay 60 dollars for less content, plus possibly more if you buy the DLC. Having just a little bit of patience seems like a better way to go.

I would shift that pre-order to Dragon's Dogma (though that's not a shooter).
