I asked yesterday if Vegas is worth the buy, which was vetoed by alot of people because of CoD4... I'm wondering if Skate's worth a buy? I don't have a shooter, and I want a skate boarding game.

How many people play online? Etc

Absolutely. I haven't checked it out on the PS3, though I do here it doesn't run quite as well as the 360 version. Could just be an exageration, though. It's still a blast if you're into skating games.

Skate is by far the best "extreme sport" game out to date. The physics, storyline development, and gameplay put it on a whole new level. I highly recommend Skate.

Skate is more simulation, TH is arcadish. Skate is more realistic on how much air you get and stuff. Skate is alot more fun if your a real skater.

Its highly addictive, I highly suggest getting it. I find it so much fun to find a sweet spot to skate, place a marker then just hit it over and over until you hit the sickest line on it, then edit and save the replay. Way too good. You wont want to pick up Tony Hawk ever again.

I'm thinking of getting Skate.  I played the demo and thought it was pretty good.  I enjoyed most of the Tony Hawk games, but I can certainly tell that Skate is taking a more realistic approach to the genre.  I can appreciate both approaches, really.  I like the simulation aspect of Skate, but I also enjoyed doing tricks/stunts in the Tony Hawk games that were just utterly absurd.  Both are fun for different reasons.

I really like skate because its realistic. I'm a skater and the stuff in that game made my mind boggle compared to real stuff.
