if you look on the back of the games, they can normally only play at 720p max. There might be exceptions, but I have Arkham Asylum and inFAMOUS and their max is 720p

I'm kinda new to this, but, check your HD settings in the options an make sure you have it set to 1080i. That is the only thing I can think of right now, lol.

The thing is 720p does a better job than 1080i. I disabled the 1080i settings on my system. My TV doesn't support 1080p.

Are you sure? I think 1080 looks better.

Ok thats the native resolution. Games have native resolutions which they are in. When you have 720 1080i 1080p all checked in your video settings the game will auto boot in its native resolution. If you check ONLY 1080p for example, then your PS3 will force the game into 1080p. I am a firm believer that games should be played in their native resolution. Just looks better to me.

1080i seems to have problems in motion. Even when playing PS2 games they seem to run smoother with 480p than they do with 480i resolutions. If my TV supported 1080p then I would have it selected as well. But if anything has a 720p native resolution then that's where I would leave it.
