Repaired PS3 return times. How long does it take, help!!!!!!

I sent my PS3 in for repairs a couple of days ago. The repair center received it today, and when I looked at the status of the repair, this is what it said: The unit you are inquiring about was opened and assigned on 11/22/2008. Please allow 7-15 business days from the time we received your unit to complete your order not including shipping and handling time.

What does unit was opened and assigned mean? And in how long should I realistically get my PS3 back?

What type of mail and speed do they use to ship replacement PS3's back to customers in the USA? 

you do realise you could usually have just unplugged it and then plugged it back in right? that's worked for me. also, one time I turned it upside down and it got a circuit to reconnect.snowyfleury
