can you do co-op in split screen mode in this game. I wanted to play with my friend and he doesn't have a PS3. Thanks

no, only multiplayer split screen. Thats why the option is called "single player"

why would it need to be patched up.

I don't find nothing wrong with it, unless u mean the name for the custom settings being erased
