PSP Recommendation Thread

Has anyone played Persona 3 Portable yet? I know Persona 3 is a well-regarded game, but I'm a bit nervous about the fact that the whole high-school part was changed into a 2D highlight-who-you-want-to-talk-with section instead of being fully rendered. This was fine in Phantasy Star Online, as the non-combat parts weren't very significant, but in P3, it's an important part. So I'm kind of curious whether I should pick it up on the PSP or just hunt down a PS2 copy. .LongZhiZi

Would you guys recommend Killzone:Liberation or Resistance:Retribution?

I can recommend Killzone. Its a fun game, and it play very well on the PSP. Resistance on the other hand, well, is pretty inconveniant on the PSP, or atleast thats what I couls squeze out of the demo. But Im sure you can get used to it, but for now, I recommend Killzone with no regret.

I'm playing through R:R right now and the controls are 5%$µ@#!€1 It's a decent games, but be prepared to die from time to time..

So what are the BEST OF THE BEST under $20 PSP games? I currently own 5 psp games:

Crisis Core FF

Rockband unplugged

Star wars battle front renegade squadron

Daxter

Ratchet and clank size matters

Sony just launched its line of "PSP Essentials", with an entire batch of core games available for only 10 bucks. I have a link in my newest blog if you want to follow it. Other than that, just about any game on clearance can be acquired for little money. I just got Fat Princess for 5 bucks and that's a 2010 title.Daavpuke

hi did anyone play the new DJ MAX:portable hot tunes i think it's very disappointing they just took DJ MAX:fever and added a little bit more songs and that's it i thought they were going to improve the graphics and they were going to offer something that is better than DJ MAX:black square but they didn't.

I played Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command before reading any reviews, and actually liked it. It was an interesting turn-based strategy, nothing really innovative, but it was satisfying, and good strategy is hard to come by on the PSP.

y0u see i have a pc and i was wondering wheter to buy a xbox 360 or psp?

now i've made my mind on psp cause i have pc for graphical games and psp on bus and in taxies.

so now the question is which psp should i buy psp 3000 or psp go or psp fat?

p.s i don't have wireless connection but i have dsl.

I'm going to the Grand Canyon and need about 10 hours of entertainment. Mercury Meltdown has 160 levels to keep me busy, but my worry is that I'll get bored of it after a while. So, what would you recommend; without online! Thanks!

@kemphaan, Dont' have much ad hoc experience personally but you could always research these games and see if you consider them fun.

Go with the 3000. The PSP Go is a good piece of tech but unfortunately, quite a few of the games that only came out on UMD before the PSP Go was released still haven't made their way on the PS store. So you'd miss out on games.
