I will definitely be getting a PS4 Pro since it is a superior version of the original PS4. I have already paid off $350 out of $560 (prices in AUD) using traded in games I will never play. Question is should I pay off the remaining using my 500gb PS4 by trading it in or sell it on ebay? I guess the more important question is would anyone buy the console for more than $210 AUD? I also bought an extra PS4 controller, a carry bag and a vertical stand. I guess all of these will go to waste if I traded it in. I have also upgraded the HDD to 2TB 5400rpm, what are my chances of selling a 2TB PS4, Carry bag, extra controller and vertical stand for more than $350-400 AUD?

The other thing is the Original PS4 looks much better than the new slim or pro model albeit a very cheap exterior. Having said that, the console is there to be used not looked at and I have no sentimental value towards these stuff.

@GhostHawk196: EB Games, yuck rip-offs.

The PS4 Pro can be pre-ordered for $505 from Gamesmen, and forget about $350+ for an older 500GB (2TB) PS4, people would buy the old 500GB from Big W or Target for $375 (its the old model but brand new and unused) + a game, I think Fifa 17.

Sell everything for $299 and do it ASAP, the longer you wait, the retailers will be dropping prices to clear out old stock.

hi From paying attention to the trends that psfour has been through; I say sell! The added up considerations make it kind of weird to keep a psfour if you know the things that happened during the time PlayStation began its production .

Why are you getting the PS4 Pro... I think that is a bigger question.

I have pre-ordered a PlayStation 4 Pro and just have 100.00 remaining to pay it off. I personally am keeping my launch PlayStation 4 "regular" console, in addition to the PS4 Pro. I always hold onto my consoles and games. This time I have a feeling that the new PlayStation 4 Pro may have a few hardware issues. So I at least will have my old PlayStation 4 console should the PS4 Pro end up dying on me.

But you should sell your PS4 and extra controller/carry case/stand for $325.00-$340.00 on Ebay, Kijjii or craigslist. For whatever the Austrailian dollar exchange works out to. Since you have installed a 2TB HDD you should be able to get this much. Since the stock PlayStation 4 console is only 500GB. The sooner you sell it the more cash you will get for it. Since the PS4 slim has arrived and soon the holiday rush will have retailers getting rid of their older PS4 stock in favor of the newer PlayStation 4 slim and PlayStation 4 Pro.

Good luck with the PS4 sale.

Selling your PS4 for a PS4Pro is pointless.

@drrollinstein: Exactly. Also people are really buying into this 4K hype. True 4K gaming isn't possible on the PS4 Pro... don't know how many times people need to say it. Its a cool option of you DON'T have a PS4, but if you do its a pointless purchase.

I have a 6700K + GTX1080 rig, given that all Microsoft exclusives are now on PC whats the point of going from 1440P beyond 60fps to 900P barely 30fps?

And why's that?

@GhostHawk196: The small power upgrade isn't worth selling your ps4 and spending an extra 100 bucks on the Pro. At least not at the moment.

@drrollinstein: I wouldn't call 1.8 to 4.2 a minor upgrade

@GhostHawk196: I would, considering no games take advantage of that extra power. Even if they did, your 5k pc could easily run them better. So you're basically left with whatever ps4 exclusives actually get patched for the pro.

So again, not really worth it.

I'd say sell it while the value is still high...the PRO is the future, and by the way not only 4K TV owners will feel the differences, the graphics will improve in a regular Full HD TV's as well.

but...i wouldn't say it's a must move, staying with the regular PS4 until the end of it's era is a decent, and mostly economical decision.

I'm with you on the idea of selling and upgrading... I think it will be a worthwhile investment. I'll take improved resolutions/framerates on a console I'm probably going to use heavily for another good 4-5 years. Besides, the 500GB to 1TB hard drive upgrade will already make up for a good chunk of the difference it'll cost to upgrade. I can understand a lot of people not wanting to, but hey, it's not their concern what others choose to do.

But anyway, I'm still not sure how I'll go about selling my current PS4 once I have the Pro. Taking it to somewhere like GameStop or a pawn shop would be quick, but I'd probably only get like $150 out of it. PS4s with a controller and cables are still going for around $250 on eBay, but that doesn't factor in shipping costs and eBay/PayPal fees. So it'd be closer to a $200 profit, which is still better but more of a hassle.
