Mine have last a good 9 hours or more, probably even longer. I don't think I've ever taken a single controller from full to dead in 1 sitting and I've had many all day gaming sessions.

My controller lasts about 10 hours or so. It all depends on how much use your controller has been through. The more times you use it and recharge it, the shorter the battery life it becomes.

Also, you don't need to charge the controller connected to the PS3. Almost anything that has a USB port will power it. I connect it to my computer when I'm online so I won't needlessly keep my PS3 on.

I don't keep count of how long it lasts. But I rarely have any charge problems. I charge them like once a week and it's good to go.

I've set mine to switch off after 10 minutes, that makes it last hours for the days I'm not gaming heavily, it sounds like you're having some problems.

Mine definitely last longer than that. If you've been using it a lot, the batter probably has just worn out. If the battery is your only problem, then you can buy a replacement online and replace it yourself (easy to do), instead of shelling out the $50 for a new controller.

Man, I run mine for like a week at a time without plugging them in. I'd say you should at least be getting 25-30 hours out of them.

You're supposed to drain the battery before you charge it. If charge it when the battery it halfway done all the time, the controller will "think" its battery life its that long.

no it is not. I have not recharged my controller in a week and I game 3 hours+ everyday and my controller is only at 50%. Make sure you have the controller's power settings to turn off when they are not in use automatically or then they will have a short play time.

are you saying you can only play for 2 hours before doing another charge?

my sixaxis is 3 years old and it still gives a good 10+ hours before i need to recharge.

maybe the battery inside has gone bad. have you had it for many years?

On a full charge I get 10-12 hours of gameplay. I've had the same controller for 3 years now, and still going strong.

That is very very odd. I would return it. Mine which is almost 4 years old still lasts around 10 and my new ones last close to 15.

I have no problems with the battery life. When I'm going to do something (eg. getting dinner) I'll charge my controller which will last another good long while.

It's better than having to constantly buy batteries.

Mine seems to last a good 15 hrs or so. I even use vibration as it doesn't bother me, however some games I did have to turn it off on because it was annoying (GoW comes to mind).

Sorry but you're wrong. lithium-ion batteries dont suffer from those memory issues alkalines were susceptible to. In fact it's actually BAD to drain a lithium-ion battery fully before charging it.

Yeah that's exactly what happens with me. Maybe 10 hours each charge. I always have vibration "on" so maybe it plays out a bit.

you are only killing ur controller's batt life. BTW if we want to save power... just off the vibration mode. or on power saver / off controller especially when downloading games or watching movie

No he's not. Lithium-ions are smarter then traditional batteries. You can't over charge them(in most cases). If the controller is fully charged it turns the charge off or switches it to a trickle charge. I have one of those charging stands you can buy and I leave my controllers plugged in 24/7 When the controllers are charging the 4 lights on top flash. Once they fully charge the lights stop.
