Ok, so my Tv said it was 1080i when I bought it. My ps3 reads my tv as a 1080p maximum output...............i thought if my tv had a max resolution of 1080i, then the ps3 would see it as such.

Anyone know why this is?

Are you using HDMI or component video cables? Only thing I could suggest is give the video test portion a shot. I also remember that there were some TV's made out there that would still support a 1080p input feed, even though they themselves were not natively 1080p displays. It COULD be that you have one of these said displays too.

1080p is the best right? if not ignore this post. most televisions will support 1080p input and then scale it down themselves so the playstation will output the best it can and the tele deals with it

Yeah I know its the best, I just wondered if maybe my tv was possibly a 1080p which would be great!

But I figured it was something simple like the first answet to my post.

Thanks fellas
