How long can you leave on a PS3 before it burns up ? I mean can you leave it on forever like a computer ? What is the longest anyone here has left it on ?

Does it have like built in fans ? Was it making loud noises ? Normally a computer gets pretty loud after a few days ?

I wouldn't leave it on all night but you can leave it on for a while and it should still be fine, when mines gets a little warm it stays like that the whole time, nothing to be concerned about though

A buddy of mine hadn't turned his off for 2 months. When he wasn't playing he was folding. He said it ran fine and he was always on when I signed on.

yeah it seems hard to believe but the way to basically tell if they're telling the truth is to look at the Stanford folding@home website and look for the ps3forums team. if you look, some guys have well over 500 folding units which means their system was on a ridiculous amount

The ps3 can be left on as long as u want. They did a test on the ps3 and the conditions it can operate on such as a freezer etc. and the ps3 still played perfect. So dont worry about it.

I left my PS3 on for a week to let it fold while I was on vacation, and it was fine when I got home. It just has to have ventilation.

I honestly think that its safe to keep your ps3 running for a while. I say this from experiance as i played my ps3 with some buds from 12pm to like 3 am in the morning. Mind you, we did take breaks and all. It didnt overheat for me, it was just a bit warm. PS3 is a monster, it can stand some long hours.

*Just make sure you have room for it to ventilate.*
