you would have to use ether optical or the included cables for sound.

Hey, you can actually use composite, component, or optical as long as you go to the sound settings and specify which one to use.  But the best would be to use optical connected to a 5.1 receiver.  Hopefully this helps, take care!

Easy, the PS3 has specific video and audio settings.  All you have to do is go to these settings and specify how you want to output your sources.  Good luck!

Oh right thats awesome, thanks! so i would just have the composite and the HDMI plugged in at the same time, just one for sound and one for the picture. Also would i still get a pretty good picture even though i was using an HDMI to DVI adapter? my TV does 1080i.

Yeah. Only differance between DVI and HDMI is that HDMI has sound also.

yes he is 100 correct. A HDMI/DVI cable is not even a converter, no electronic conversion going on.
