My PS3 graphics do not look how they should. The texturing in games looks very pixelated and not smooth. Objects in games seem to flicker a lot. It has always been this way and I can't figure out how to fix it. I have tried my PS3 on three different tvs and none of the settings change anything. I use and hdmi on an hdtv. All of the settings on my PS3 are correct and nothing makes a difference if I change it. I get the same ugly, pixelated graphics on any game. Could there be a problem with my PS3 or hdmi cord?

@madz1210: switch to Component. their cheap to get. and it also has a faster response time than HDMI.

What games are you playing? Some games just have issues with graphics and/or just aren't made very well for the PS3. So I'm thinking there isn't anything wrong with your set up or anything, it's just kind of how it is.

@SoNin360: I play games that are supposed to look amazing: Assassin's Creed III, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 3. The graphics don't look anywhere near as good as I see in videos

Most videos show cinematic stuff, which is going to look better than the actual game. I thought all of those games mentioned looked great by PS3 standards, but I've never been one to fret too much over graphics. I guess you could keep messing around with settings and try to get a slightly better picture, but I think your expectations were just too high, especially if going off of cinematic trailers.

@SoNin360: I'm talking about gameplay videos on YouTube. Everything in them looks smooth and there is little or no pixelation. Obviously, the graphics in trailers look much better than the actual gameplay but I have seen walkthroughs on YouTube that look a lot better than what I have.

Connect the hdmi cable into the HDMI/DVI port in your TV if you have one, then rename that port to PC through your TV settings. It sounds daft but really improved image quality when I was having issues with my xbox360

@madz1210: I’ve been having the same issues. I have 2 ps3s, they both have the same issues. I tried different hdmi cables and different TVs still no luck. Then I started comparing games from my Xbox 360 to my ps3. The games on ps3 look alot worse with the Pixelization and flickering. Even the Exclusives like uncharted and ratchet and clank looks bad compared to halo reach, gears3 and fable2/3. This is a Sony issue. Sony must of sent out a update in 2014 or 2015 to cause this issue to make people upgrade to a ps4.

I understand this was an old ass thread... But I have a PS3 Slim with the sliding CD slot and Bayonetta and Dark Souls played just like they always did.
