i remember when i got my ps3 last year they said that ps3 games wont be region coded and it will only take effect on ps1/ps2 games. i have ps3game that has the r1 logo on the the side of the disc and im confused whether this will work on asian model because im buying my cousin nba2k8(r1) for his asian model. so you guys think it will work?

R1 FOR NTCS R2 FOR PAL & THEY PUT IT JUST FOR YOU TO KNOW SINCE SOME GAMES IN NTCS VERSON ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE PAL ONES LIKE NGS.

Don't worry, it will have the region code but it doesn't mean they are locked to that region, unlike the PS1 orthe PS2 games where the back of the box, it says soemthing like only compatible with PS2 and PAL/NTCS/NTCS-J etc... PS3 games doesn't say that. It will work.
