I bought a 80gb ps3 today and played around with it for a few hours and tried getting my wireless to work. When I was done I turned it off with the power switch at the back while i was in the interface. Later when I turned it back on I got no visuals or audio and all 4 of my controllers led lighters were blinking and I couldn't do anything. How can I fix this and get back into the system?

make sure all connections are correct (audio and video)

1. turn off your PS3

2. connect at least one controller using the usb wire

3. turn on the PS3

4. Press the PS button on the controller when your log in sign appears

It's chargeing and when your not using the PS3 you can charge the controller via any USB port. I would never turn the main power switch off anyway. I really never turn my system off anyway because when it's not being used I leave it folding, I set my system up to where if I forget it will start folding after a while of not being used.

If the controller is turned off, plugged in, and the PS3 is on, then all 4 lights will flash, meaning it's charging.

My screen stays black and it doesn't say charging and I dont see a sign on screen appear. It was working earlier this morning but now I get the black screen with the charging lights again.. and this time I didnt even power my system down. How do I get my PS3 to do anything when this happens? I pressed the PS button and the controller lights start flashing and nothing happens. I tried shutting the system down, turning it on with the usb cables connected to my controller and still no visuals. I press the PS button and the lights start flashing again. Any help would be appreciated!

It's because you just flipped the button in the back of the PS3(which not a good thing to do unless you turned the PS3 off first)

if your not getting any video or audio check the audio/video wire in the back of your playstation. this problem happened a lot with my ps2 and happens occasionally with my ps3 so your controller might be charging you just can see it

PS: it isnt good to flip the switch in the back if the system isnt off

It seems to be working now, maybe it was because i flipped the switch. I dont think it was charging because the lights were blinking a lot more rapidly than it normally does when its charging. So lesson learned.. Im never turning off my PS3 lol.

I never turn my system off. But the fact that the main power switch is a full mechanical switch everytime it's used there is always a chance of something happening to the switch.

You should always shut your PS3 down from the menu and make sure the light on the front is red before turing off the power switch in the back.

I have the same problem even when i reset the controller and all that it still just flashes when it's not plugged in through a USB it's frustrating cause i have the ps3 slim which only has 2 usb slots and i have 4 controllers so when playing with friends it gets annoying.

Guess i'll have to waste money on those media hub things it's a shame
