Ps3 fan . . . ugh.

Hey guys, I have a 40gb ps3. I've had it for about a year now. During like a game, or at random times, it would get loud, not loud like a 360, but Just the fans would run louder than usual. Is this safe for the ps3? I take care of my console, and it's in a decent spot for ventilation. Is this okay for the ps3? Should I be worried at all?

This only started to happen about 2 - 3 months ago, how long have you had yours for?

Because I heard of stories where this has been happening for 8or 9 months, and then the person gets YLOD. And I'm really skeptical about that because the ps3 is built like F'n tank.
