Hey, I plan on buying a PlayStation 3 in about a month. I was wanting some advice on how much of an upgrade HDMI cables are over AV Component cables(HD AV Cables-Like the ones that come with the Xbox 360 Pro system). All input is very appreciated. ^-^

HDMI Cables are a must if you have a HDTV. You can get cheap caples off of ebay and stuff. But yes i recommend it.

If its on a 720p set, no difference. If its on a set that supports 1080p via component, negligible difference. If its not on a set that supports 1080p via component, significant difference. So really, it comes down to your TV. :P

Alright thanks. I have a 720p, so I'll stick with the component ^_^

Look around, you'll find HDMI cables for cheap. I did some investigating about cables costing $120 or $12. Apparently there is no difference. I went on Craigs List in my Area and found a guy selling them for $5. Lucky for me, the dude was 3 blocks away. 20 mins later, I was running HDMI, which has made a world of difference. I find it hard playing games a friends' houses who are running componet or regular A/V. Do your research.

Yeah, you can get a 6 foot cable for .99 cents on amazon, but I already have the component from a friend who upgraded to HDMI.

The reason I asked is because my TV is a bit older, it doesn't have an HDMI port on it, so if HDMI made a huge difference I was going to save up for the same TV I have except the new model for around 500 dollars, can't afford a 1080 though :(.
