My backwards compatible PS3 bricked on me last night, and after being told by Sony they can't do anything about it, I got a new PS3 slim...I had heard something about some PS2 emulator thing being available on PSN...is it still possible to get htis once PSN goes back up?

I believe there is an update on the sotre that allows the BC consoles to play the PS2 online titles, on the PS3. (ie FFXI) But there is no update/patch/download that will make your slim play PS2 titles

I think he means the PS2's HDD app thats on the PSN store. This allows games that supported the PS2's HDD to be used on BC PS3s. anyway, when my BC PS3 died last year, I choosed SOny to fix(replacement) it instead of getting a slim.
