ok i bought an and ethernet cord and a lil thing to connect my computer ethernet cable to the one i bought...

how do i connect everything so i can play ps3 online?

a connecter...to connect 2 cables together...

like do i connected the computer ethernet cable to the one i bought and then connect it to the ps3? or wut? please help if u can

Theres 2 ways you can connect a ps3.

1. Wireless internet connection.
2. Ethernet Cable.

I'm predicting you do not have wireless, so ill skip that.

Ethernet:
Ok, Ethernet as you know it is the cable you have linked your computer cable to the modem. It is usually Blue, but may vary and be black, tellow, white, or wateva colour you have or painted it with.

To connect your PS3 to the internet (using ethernet cables), First get the cable.
Secondly, there should be a port which the cable can fit into at the back of the ps3.
Third, you should have a modem that has more than 1 slot for the ethernet cables (i.e. modem router are usually 4ports)
Fourth step, simple plug both ends in. One into the ps3, the other into your modem.
If you do not have any other spare ports on your modem, you will haveto choose either to use ur PC or PS3 at any single time.
To get more of these ports, you have to buy a MINI HUB, switches or whateva you call them. They usually sell 4 port ones and they are fairly cheap.
