I don't really care what reviews it gets either, and I will be buying the game regardless of reviews. I'm quite pumped for it, though the recent delay sucks bad. Still, I can't wait for it.:)
And by trying to "fix" a few last minute things...sure.....I think the new release date is only going to make things worse for them. It saddens me to think that the gigantic release gap us gamers faceover the summer could really be exploited by some of the newerand unestablished IP's if the developers would ever get their head out of Santa's ass.

Good reviewers are objective and know what they are talking about and well worth paying attention to IMO to avoid spending $100 on a poor game. Seems like some people here are just expected a little to much from the game, got themselves all excited and now refuse to believe that the game isn't that good.
I personally didnt follow this game much and frankly, still dont. From the looks of it and gameplay style it looks like an above average game.
Now i havent played it first hand but from the looks of it i dont think its going to get exceptionally high scores from critics that may or not be "fanboys". Im expecting nothing higher than a 7.5 here on GS but thats just my opinion. It looks like a fairly repetitive game with a basic gameplay that will interest people for a while.
Though some may disagree, that isjust my thought on this game. As for the scores people shouldnt mind all that much to them, until they play first hand thats when the person can make their decision and score.
Regarding the egm reviews, I had a 2-year suscription to egm and the only useful thing that came out was learning that egm is the biggest group of xbot douchebags to ever publish a magazine. Except for oxm, but I can't really blame them.
This is not just from the Lair reviews. This opinion is from a build up of so many one-sided reviews. That magazine is a joke.

So what? The game has also got two 9's and a 7.5. Just means that ppl have different opinions about the game and you'll have to play it for yourself to form your own opinion.

If everyone was giving the game similar reviews... I'd agree with EGM's reviews. But they have questionable reviews on nearly every game in that issue AND Lair is getting good to great reviews every where else.
dont be too disappointed about the delay, now youll have more time before the big let down...

whatever gears fanboy im really excited for it even though its delayed. they delayed it for a good reason: to make it better and thats always a good thing.
How reliable are these sources? Last time I checked, the September issue of EGM isn't going on sale until August 7th and the original release date of Lair was August 14th. I can't ever remember EGM publishing a review before the game's release date. Also, it wasn't mentioned in the NEXT MONTH section of the August issue which is odd considering how highly anticipated this game has been.
People have to understand that the video game reviewers have a different standard of measuring games. They are a lot more critical b/c that is part of their job. Regular gamers just want to have a fun title they can enjoy for a long period of time and are more forgiving on a games shortcomings than professional reviewers. In the end so go with what you like, and be your own critic.

So they hyped a product to the point you will get it even if several people tell you it's total trash? Ok, who put the blinders on this guys eyes?!
and to think that recent threads were worried that bad Lair reviews would hurt ps3 sales (because it's an exclusive), when actually a delayed release date might hurt Lair sales. seriously, if you want to play the game, you're going to buy it. regardless of it's score. besides, plenty of good games have had control and camera issues.
