Now that Crisis Core, God of War and Patapon are out. What is PSP's GOTY?

All three games are definitely praise worthy killer aps for psp owners but which is the most deserving of the title. God of War: CoO provides an epic console like experience but lacks staying power and doesn't really change the formula. Patapon combines several genres and is definitely the most surprisingly good and original of the three but lacks the name recognition. Crisis Core packs great portable rpg gameplay and does justice to a game considered one of the best of all time while also packing the most content of the three but has some issues.

After playing all three, I pick Crisis Core even though I had my doubts about the game before playing it b/c I had never played a jrpg much less FFVII. Crisis Core features the most content and depth while also differientiating itself from its source material in gameplay. Presentation wise Crisis Core is a mixed bag compared to the top quality consistent throughout God of War and art style of Patapon. I also pick Crisis Core bc it features greater length and replay value with quests; after beating God of War in 5 hrs I don't feel compelled to really put the game back into my psp. What game do you think deserves GOTY for psp and why? What criteria do you use when picking GOTY?

yeah I agree but if those were the ones we had to pick from at the end of the year Crisis Core by far..because it is longer than 5hrs,,it has AMAZING graphics ecpecial during the video scenes and HARD mode gives it a really fun challenge. GOW is good but too short , patapon was boring to me, I dont like hearnig the same song and beat over and over again

God of war all the way, its fun even if you beat in 5 hours you still want to restart

You never know when it comes to videogames lol, anything could happen in 9 months.

i haven't played GoW yet and patapon was great fun but CC:FF7 is really amazing it has superb graphics and fun combat plus it's the longest of the three but patapon,GoW,syphon filter:LS, are runners up for sure

I liked GoW but I cant stand games that are too short. Like everyone else is saying "we have 9 months left." Honestly what else is coming out this year. I heard maybe DMC and GT4 but what else???Killfox

To the starter of this topic...

Dude, don't be so sure that these games will be the GOTY. Dude, time will tell... Mentioning the upcoming comeback of GTA:SA in PSP and some "exclusive" games at the end of the year. Star Wars the force unleasehed will also be a great game.

GoW is a good game but it doesn't really have any new additions to give it a little bit stamina, it's just the plain same old, same old, you really can't help comparing it to prince of persia and other same genres...

Patapon on the other hand is very promising, but it doesn't stand out that much especially banging on to a big wall like CC and GoW, and it seems to fit more for nintendo DS gamers.

CC is one hell of a game, even though the graphics are its top features, the story is just twisted a little bit so if you really didn't know the original game you may still be quite lost ( especially for slow gamers ).

Crisis Core is still the game of the year

let's just hope that devil may cry will be able to top that!

Crisis Core is definitely in my GoTY list. GoW is amazing but pales in comparison to Crisis Core which is tons better than GoW in every aspect possible ( except in-game graphics in which GoW really excels at ). Patapon is abit too monotonous for my liking though its still fairly decent since its a one-of-a-kind game that really does its part well. All in all, Crisis Core rocks cos it has an amazingly touching story with decent gameplay, loads of optionals and oh-my-god-ishly beaaaauuuutiiifull cinematics!! :D
