NFS or GT5: Who has the crown?

Since GT5 is out now and NFS has been out for a week now. Just wondering which is the better racer? I know it's kinda hard to compare. But it's more of who is the best racer for PS3 now? Maybe neither of these and Modnation Racers.... :) But who won? Did GT5 live up to the hype? Or did NFS sneak up and snatch the first place? Any thoughts?

I figured you meant shift since those two are more similar than comparing GT5 to HP. I have yet to play the retail of GT5 or HP. Shift is awesome though (I play it on PC)!

I have played GT5 for an hour or so and I honestly don't think it has lived up to the hype. Perhaps people were expecting too much of it? It's a good racing game but not outstanding, so far. I am beginning to think should I have gone for NFS over GT5.

well i own both, so i choose both ftw lol.

Really though I cant comment yet, as i am waiting through a painfully long GT5 install...and therefor have not played it yet.

Give it a few more weeks and we should get an answer. GT5 has just been released and we don't even know if it has any problems yet.

4-5 years working on a game when grid, shift, and need for speed and others have been releasing games already for us....its too much to expect...slow delivery and im sure will come out with another game early next year...the killzone effect.....what took years to develop,,,,had way too much hype,,,was great, but needs to be tweaked....kz3 is around the way and its everything what the first was but more appealing to the masses and noob friendly.....

They are two different ypes of games. GT5 is all about the driving and tweaking experience and it is also a real life driving simulator. NFS is a racing game its not a driving simulator so trying to compare them is like comparing apples and oranges.

While I have to say I'm disappointed with Gran Turismo after playing for straight few hours.. For first impression, NFS HP is better. But then, I still need some more time to decide which is better.

I believe the two games are uncomparable.

gt5 is a simulator. It is played for realism.

NFS is arcade. It is played for fun.

Someone can hate one but love the other.

ETHER TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED (I know its old) the new TEST DRIVE comes out next year but if I had too pick GT5 I just put 16 hours into it already on thanksgiving,I just never like NFS games ever since the PS1 days very overrated sorry don't like arcade racing games besides that NFS GAME IS NOT EVEN IN THE SAME CLASS A GT-RACING GAMES JUST THE WAS i SEE IT BIG RACING FAN OVER HERE...

Need for Speed. Never have been interested in Gran Turismo

Comparing NFS HP and GT5 is like comparing an apple and an orange. Both fruit but nothing in common besides that. I love racers and love both gams for different reasons.

NFS is fast and arcade like, great for a quick blast using my controller

GT5 is a serious sit down and play for at least an hour using my wheel and playseat

Only played the demo for each (I just got NFS through), but I will go with NFS since I just can't get into racing sims and that didn't change after playing the GT5 demo.

Honestly buddy, check out GT5 at some point in the ps3's life cycle, even if u purchase nfs first. It is fantastic. I've only played 4 hours so far but everythin i have experienced with it is phenominal. And the amount of content u get for the money u spend on it, wow. Give it a test drive ;) HAHA GET IT? GET IT? just me then? :)
