My PSP can't read disks

I was trying to update my PSP with the new GOW, but the battery was too low. I charged it and put GOW back in, but now it can't read disks. I want to know if there is a fix or if I'm screwed, any help would be great.

try take out umd and insert againsssb

has done this to me before did this and worked fine.

Thanks for the advice, I tried both of those things but still nothing happens.
