How can I get the disc out? I've tried the eject button with the power off and on but nothing is working. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry to hear that. i got the same issue on my original 60 gig. Had RE5 stuck in it.
First off if your system is under warranty go hereto schedule a service on it where they will remove your game and return it to you with your repaired system. If you are not under warranty you can still use the same link but they will charge you $150 US for the service. Normally it takes 3 weeks to get your stuff back but be warned that they give you a 90 day warranty on the refurbished console they return to you.
I was impatient so I ripped open my PS3, got my game out, bought a new PS3 and tried some of the fixes on youtube (which do not work).
Hope that helps
Mine's a launch 60GB. I tried the eject button while it's off and then on but did not work. I've been YouTube-ing and Googling and no recommendation is working.DJCUEBALLsame thing happened to my 80GB. I took it apart to get my FIFA 2011 and bought a SLIM. If the eject thing doesn't work ..... you have to service it which they will give you back the game or do what I did.

Also, can I just use my old HDD to put into a new PS3 system so I don't lose my saves?
Yeah. Once you get the top off and separate the bluray drive you just need to take the top off of the driver and slide the disc out. Just be careful if you want to put it back together. There are some small springs that are part of the disc loading arm that is under tension so they might pop out when you take apart the drive.
Perfect. Thank you for the help everyone. I may just toss out the system... not sure if I can sell it for anything... unless someone really wants the backwards compatibility.Yeah. It asks you to install the latest update with a flash drive before you can use it but it kept on giving me this error so I just used the HDD that came with the SLIM and restored it with a backup I made before my 80GB broke. Although my 80GB PS3 actually had a 500GB HDD I bought so maybe thats what caused the error. I read something about it having to do with switching the jumper on the hard drive but idk.
[QUOTE="TheIndianChild"]RED light of death ? =S You mean Yellow light of death , right ?hiryu3nope it goes yellow and then blinks red yup anyway, its called YLOD, i fixed it many times and you can play on it again, BUT it will break again in 1~2 weeks, you can fix it again and again and again but it will break again everytime. So, my suggestion: - Look up on youtube a video that shows you how - Do it and get the disc out - Buy a new one You'll need termal paste, a special screw driver, and a head gun, NO the hair drier doesn't work because its NOT hot enough. I got all that stuff for like €20.
I saw a video on Youtube that a lot of people dont know about. If you have YLOD you can ejectect your game by flipping off the main power switch in the back of your PS3, hold down the eject button and then flip the switch back on while still holding the eject button. Ill try to find the vid.
also I don't know if it would work but maybe the secret reset might work. Hold on I will get a link to a thread I just posted on about itOff- topic but what game

Link Just follow the steps. One thing you will lose all your save data. Not your trophys or anything, just your saved data. Your trophys are saved via your PSN account. And just redownload all your things that you got off the PSN. It worked for me (then again I didn't get the YLOD I had a diferent problem) But even if you have to lose your saves, It better then having to buy a new PS3, and a new version of the game
