I remember when I would walk into my computer science classes(Graduated last week by the way... yay) and talk about the fun I would have with my PS3 and all my classmates would talk to me as if I was a black man tryna date a white woman in the 1920's. But Now:

I have converted my 3rd friend into getting a PS3.

Ps3 has countless games coming out just for it.

They are continuing in adding updates to improve the functionality of the PS3 dashboard.

And the best part is when I walk into a gamestop, the workers suggest PS3 games to me first and don't frown when they find out I have a PS3. lol

I am just wondering for all those early PS3 users like myself... do you remember how it was to be an owner of the PS3? How everyone would question your judgement?

All I know is that it seems that the PS3 is finally started to pick up that Game momentum that the PS2 had that carried that system for so long... So all I can do is sit back and wait for the greatness.

some people have to choose between other consoles and the PS3 due to $$$ but so far i am extremely happy with my choice to buy the PS3 instead of the 360 or the Wii. and i think i speak for lots of ppl

I think what you will find is that here on Gamespot the people that where amoung the first to pick up Playstation 3's where people that did these things.

1. Looked at the potential of the hardware.

2. Looked at the First and Second party Dev's. (Where Sony completly outstips X-box)

3. looked at the announced games.

People that look at the entire Generation from the ofset rather than the initial releases generally are more satisfied with there purchases.

I mean I own all three this generation ,but I'm definatly having most fun with my PS3 this gen.

yeah man the ps3 is the best choice i've ever made when it comes to buying video game consols

well to be fair there really was not much out for the ps3 that first year. IMHO not nearly enough to justify that price tag. But then I can say the same thing for the 360. wich is why i waited till about a year ago to get a ps3 lol. Now how ever its a very deffernt story. the ps3 has IMHO has a great game line up. It has awsome games comeing out. Its a pretty solid system compaired to the "other" system. blue ray has not only started to catch on strong but won the war with HDdvd so there is no worries of that formate dying. The online is now great AND FREE! The system has a lot going for it and IMHO its well worth the extra cash overthe other systems.But with that said i think sonys marketing campaign is in need of major help and they need to have a price drop asap if they want to regain the leed over M$.

The PS3 reclaimed its glory with the release of Valkyria Chronicles. Before that I didn't really play it much to be honest. Now I play it whenever I get the chance.

Anyway, I got a release 20Gb PS3 (real lucky) and I am so happy with it. I've never looked back, I have an amazing library of games that I can go back to enjoy, as well as my PS1 and Ps2 games! I've even played flash games online with it. It has my favorite games of this gen, (and I have a pretty badass PC too), and the PS3 never ceases to amaze me. I witnessed this "discriminaton" as well, people always asked why I got a PS3, and I knew it had the best teams working for it (Kojima, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, etc.). I just always loved Sony's consoles. Ps1, Ps2, and now Ps3.

I can confidently say the PS3 is my favorite gaming console EVER. I've been gaming since Atari 2600. I mean, what other console can you check your mail, rent or buy movies, play flash games, play amazing first and third party games, AND watch free internet porn on?!?!?!

I really don't care what the ps3 haters think anyways. I stand by my decision to purchase a ps3 and I don't regret it in the slightest.

I am a very happy costomer, but of course there was never a doubt in my mind that the PS3 would be frick'in awesome...well maybe a little doubt but I think once Blu-Ray won the format war it was obvious that the PS3 would be here for a looong time. I didn't get too much beef for owning the console maybe just a few paperweight comments but as of now am THE go-to guy for playing awesome videogames. I have RockBand 2 with nearly 800 songs...if anyone wants a party they need to come to me, MWahahaha.

I know I got bashed everytime I laid a PS3 game on the counter at GameStop. Those guys made me want to beat them over the head with the cash register. Any time I picked out a multiplat they'd say "ooh, man, don't waste your money man! Thats got terrible graphics on PS3, man! Get a 360 and get that game for it, man! You fail at life if you own a PS3, man!" Funny thing is they even said this about Oblivion and it was SO much better on PS3. Anyway, they always gave me crap. Now, they're constantly praising it! When I picked up InFamous the other morning the guys were like "YES!!!Awesome choice, man!!" and one gave me a high five. :o Seriously. Nephilim83

yeah, I felt the same way as you guys. i was a closet PS3 owner. my friends would all play online with the xBox whilst I was alone with the PS3. We're just ahead of our times, folks.

PS3 has the highest number of 1st and 2nd party AAA titles. MS has Halo, and that's pretty much it. Wii has Mario Galaxy and a port of the GC Zelda. I wouldn't call it the best console I've ever had in terms of games available -- that would go to the PS2. But since my PS3 is has full BC, I can play all the PS2 games too (and PS1) but that would be cheating..lostn

I was looked at that way when i bought my PS3. I don't have a 360 or a Wii and it wasn't until the PS3 had been out for a year did i decide i wanted one over the 360 and everyone thought i was crazy. I payed 650 bucks for the Motorstorm bundle and i dont regret it one bit. My friends used to think i was crazy for buying one but now i've convinced 90% of them to buy it and they were mad that they had been missing out for so long. So yes i completely agree that things have changed completely for ps3 owners. Not just socially but entertainment wise as well. Remember the old PS Store? yeesh!

I have noticed that people on the webz stopped trash talking about the system. Not stopped, but it is not as frequent. I never understood why people hated the PS3, though some have come around to admitting it is a great console. I bought mine a year after launch, with the games I own and the ones to be released, I'm a happy camper.
