Topic. I find this to be exciting, Frontline was one of my favorite PS2 games and it always bummed me out that I had to keep the new Medal of Honor game disc around to access the redone HD version (for those not in the know, 2010 MoH came with a revamped Frontline). Looks like it's coming out on PSN this week, anyone else stoked?

Yes.

Also, will this be a legit, full game or another add-on like EA did with American McGee's Alice? My guess is the former but EA screwed over someAlice fans that way.

Hahahaha, YES! I love that game. I remember my brother and I playing it when we were little and always competing against each other on who can get the most groin shots! :P

I played it on the MoH disc. I thought it was boring and dated. Super frustrating too because THERE ARE NO CHECKPOINTS.

If you didn't play this game "back in the day" you'd hardly appreciate it now. But personally I LOVE IT. It was a great game then but you can't enjoy the PS2 version anymore. The controls are so terrible, without the modern controls in the HD version it's very dated.

This game is difficult FOR SURE, it's not like today's shooters that are more online based. I only beat the last mission on PS2 with cheats it was so hard...

Still haven't beat it on PS3 but I have it from the Medal of Honor disc, which I got for a modest $10.

I didn't but I have to go by when I played it. First person shooters arguably age the worst and it shows here. You may have rose colored glasses for this game as it isn't remarkable in any way, shape, or form now. I'm curious to see if you like the HD version now. And yes, the old controls (which they let you use) are AWFUL. I couldn't believe how anything like that could be passed off as playable.

I don't think fps games age the worst, if anything rpgs do since every year they're always making them larger in scope and amoutn of stuff to do that older ones just seem boring. I didn't play much of the HD remake since I got rid of MOH in 2 days (it was the easiest/shortest game on hard difficulty I've ever played), but what I did play really showed how hard games used to be (granted, a lot of new games have a good challenge as well). But to say fps games don't age well is hard for me to accept since I'm currently replaying deus ex (on the ps2 mind you) and it is holding up very well as do a lot of my ps2/xbox fps games. Though, controls have in fact gotten better for some games.

Just opinions here and I don't play enough RPGs to have an opinion there ;) I just feel FPS games have come so long that it's really hard to go back.

True enough. I think it's mainly in the controls for a lot of them, especially since using both joysticks is pretty much natural now. Granted, there's pretty much a standard control scheme with a few minor differences from game to game now thanks to COD (I have to admit, it's one of the better things to come from COD this gen) which is pretty nice.
