MGS4 frame-rate ???

Do you really care if it's 60 or 30fps (frames per second). keep in mind that 60fps means less textures.

acutally i do, i would still have buy the game if it had choppy frame rates, but it would be VERY nice if it could just run smoothly (espeicially since PS3 games keep on getting bad reveiws about their choppy frame rates).

Kojima said it'll run at 1080p at 60 fps, 60 fps is a lot smoother then 30 fps coming from a guy who had to lower resolution in cs because of 30 fps.

60fps does not mean less textures. True that it takes some power for it and it makes it more difficult for textures but really if the dev puts the time into it they can get the same texture quality in 60. It just takes alot of extra work that reasonalby some devs don't think would impact the game in a negative way.

Insomiac thought 30 frames were perfectly enough for its game so it left it at 30. Kojima thins he'll get the best out of 60 for his game.

Just depends on the dev.

I dont think that the human eye would even notice the difference between 60fps and 80 fps, besides we already cant BAIRLY notice the difference between 60fps and 30fps.

I can notice the difference between 30 and 60. But you're right. More than 60 isn't noticeable to the human eye.

I can notice the difference between 30 and 60. But you're right. More than 60 isn't noticeable to the human eye.

Yah its pretty much a waste of time making a game go more than 60fps.

Damn I don't got the 60 fps 1080p but of course we all know it's going to run at 1080p, since Sony is pushing Kojima to release it in 1080p.

Judging from all the screens of MGS4 it looks like the game doesn't have really high texture anyway so I can see 1080p at 60fps easy for this game. The textures in MGS4 aren't ver detailed to begin with.

30 frames is a good rate. If it's locked, things will be smooth. 60fps will be noticeably better, but not by an incredible margin. Something like Virtua Fighter 5 requires 60fps due to the advanced moves in the game. A shooter like Resistance doesn't require such how should I say "fine tuning"

I think that the power of the PS3 can handle both.

Agreed. Except the characters, the environment doesnt have much texture so might be good at 60fps, btw SONY is pushing for 1080p since MGS4 is THE game for PS3 owners, but i'd be happy with 720fps b/c I know Kojima will deliever the best everything there is for his last mgs series game. MGS is not about texture it's about Style and it's very hard for any system to push 1080p at 60 with high texture not even the latest PC GPUs can do that.

Wait a minute. I thought Hideo Kojima said that he will have the game run in 30 fps, because he wanted the game to have a moive like feel.

Meh it is an old trailer and did you see the remastered trailer with updated effects and textures. It was beautiful.

And snapping necks using the controller sold me a copy of metal gear even if I didn't know the franchise existed :P Awesome.

I found that Portable Ops toned down on the blood and violence cause you couldn't snap necks and there was no blood. Didn't change the fact the game is awesome but I found it interesting. MGS4 looks to have those back in though.

Kojima doesn't care much for HD he likes the gritty look. Not shiny. What he cares for is "sound"

Kojima said a long time ago he doesnt give a crap about HD in a magazine

the game runs at 720p with 60 FPS since the latest known build

Thats true he just cares about making good games, which always look amazing from a graphical point of view.

frame rate does not corrolate directly to amount of textures.
