Uhmm... The game came out August 12th. It's now a month later. Where is the roster update? Pennington is still is still the Jets QB, and Favre is Still Packers!! Didn't they promise the update to be a couple of days after the release?
Do I have to do the update manually? I was never given the update. I went to EA's page and they say to to put Favre in the free agent pool and put him where I want, but that doesn't fix the rest of the roster changes. (ie: Shockey trade, Pennington in Dolphins, etc...)

WTF... not only did they promised a roster update - they delivered. You have to get the rosters manually via Lobby. Right before you begin an online match, your game will be prompted to search for an updated roster. Save that roster and if you do not wish to play online, simply back out and you're set.
You have to go online so that you may update your roster. The sdid promise to update the roster , they didn't say how they were going to do it at that particular time. This was the way to do it without replaceing every game on the shelf.
I just need to be sure. If I do the roster update online, will that new roster be available if I start a new franchise? I'm not interested in playing online really. I just want the rosters for my franchise.
Yes, just go to the online menu and "Play Now". It will put you in a matchup and will check for the updated rosters. Since you don't have em it will download them and ask if you want to save them. When complete, back out and you can then use those rosters for any other game modes if you wish. They are current right now, even have Vince Young not starting.
i cant have my ps3 online.. is there any other way to get the download via nornal internet??warty09
Google "official madden 09 roster update" Some people were making them for people to download that way. I wanted it direct from EA though. You'll have to burn a CD of it though. Why don't you just go online with your PS3? You're missing a lot. The system is getting better with age thanks to firmware updates and the PS store. Bestbuy has a Linksys router for $50 that's sets itself up automatically. DO IT!!!
